Job Description

The Resident Project Representative (RPR) will be the Engineer's or Engineer’s Consultant’s employee or agent at the construction site, acting under the Engineer’s supervision. The RPR’s interactions will primarily involve the Engineer and Contractor, with limited dealings with Subcontractors via the Contractor’s approval.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor Progress :

  • Document daily work progress with written reports and photos.
  • Review schedules and consult with the Engineer.

Meetings :

  • Attend project meetings, including preconstruction and progress reviews, and prepare minutes.

Liaison :

  • Serve as a liaison between the Engineer, Contractor, and Owner, assisting with clarifications and additional details as needed.

Work Review :

  • Observe and verify critical work components meet design requirements.
  • Report deviations or issues to the Engineer.

Testing :

  • Witness and document test results, system start-ups, and equipment training.

Records and Reports :

  • Maintain detailed records of project participants and furnish periodic progress reports.

Payment Requests :

  • Review and forward payment applications with recommendations, ensuring compliance with established procedures.

Completion :

  • Assist in inspections for Substantial and Final Completion, preparing lists of outstanding items and recommending acceptance of work.

Work Conditions

This role will require work outdoors at construction sites, monitoring the installation of water and wastewater infrastructure. The work may include:

  • Excavation and backfill
  • Reinforced concrete construction
  • Gravity and pressure pipeline installation
  • Mechanical and electrical equipment installation

The individual must have confined space training and OSHA construction site safety training to ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols.

Requirements

  • Education :
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Post-secondary education in construction management, civil engineering, or related fields is a plus.
  • Experience :
  • Relevant experience in construction, engineering, or inspection roles.
  • Skills :
  • Strong understanding of construction methods and materials.
  • Familiarity with blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills.
