Mold Maker – High Precision Tooling

Winston-Salem, NC

Compensation: $65,000–$74,000 ($30–$35/hr) + Relocation Package Available

Are you a master mold maker with a passion for precision and craftsmanship? Our client is a well-established machine shop in the Winston-Salem area and they are hiring an experienced Mold Maker to support its high-performance tooling operations.

We’re especially interested in military veteran candidates who bring technical skill, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic developed through hands-on service.

Position Overview

This role focuses on the design, fabrication, repair, and maintenance of molds used in advanced manufacturing processes. You’ll work with a skilled team, using a wide range of machining tools and equipment to deliver exacting results.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and mold specifications
• Operate and set up CNC machines, lathes, mills, grinders, and EDM equipment
• Assemble, fit, and fine-tune mold components to ensure precision and performance
• Use micrometers, indicators, and comparators to maintain tight tolerances
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mold/tooling issues and implement adjustments
• Inspect and refine finished molds for functionality and accuracy
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant work environment
• Mentor junior mold makers and share best practices

Qualifications

• 12+ years of hands-on mold making experience
• Strong understanding of mold design, tooling materials, and fabrication methods
• Skilled in operating manual, CNC, and EDM machinery
• Proficient in blueprint and engineering drawing interpretation
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Detail-oriented, independent, and collaborative team player
